Three former prefectural colleges were merged into one broad-based prefectural university, just as the traditions and originalities of the colleges combined to inspire a new university in 1987.
We will count on the tradition of quality and excellence which this university has maintained to lead us into our next important era, as the University of Shizuoka becomes an independent corporate body devoted to education.
