The University of Shizuoka has ranked in first place for three funding categories, “Eating habits (Dietary sciences)”, “Environmental and hygienic pharmacy” and “Integrated nutrition science”, over the last five years in the national Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research funding program. The rankings of the top ten research institutions were announced by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on October 10, 2017.

The University also ranked in the top ten in the following categories:

Medical pharmacy, 3rd
Physical pharmacy, 4th
Chemical pharmacy, 7th
Environmental risk control and evaluation, 8th
Environmental conscious materials and recycle, 10th
