A short-term exchange student from the University of Arizona paid a courtesy visit to President Yasuyuki Imai on April 21.
President Imai welcomed the student, and the conversation proceeded in a friendly manner from start to finish. One of the professors in attendance asked the student whether she would stay in Arizona or return to her home state (outside of Arizona) after graduation, sharing some interesting information about the vastness of the United States.
She arrived in Japan in late March and spent three weeks in Meijo University for practical training. She is also scheduled to participate in a program at the University of Shizuoka until early May, focusing on practical training at several institutions including pharmacies and hospitals.
The program is part of a student exchange program based on an inter-university exchange agreement, and she described her study abroad experience as “once in a lifetime experience.” She also said that she would like to have a different experience in a different city.
We look forward to seeing her gain further experience in the medical field in Shizuoka, broaden her international perspective, and apply it to her future career.
