Matrix Accounting, Giovanni Rossi, and the Yuji Ijiri Research Program (July1, 2025)

Home > News & Events > Matrix Accounting, Giovanni Rossi, and the Yuji Ijiri Research Program (July1, 2025)

From the mid to late 20th century, attempts emerged to incorporate structural and quantitative perspectives into accounting theory. Notably, Giovanni Rossi's Matrix Accounting and Yuji Ijiri's Triple-Entry Accounting were pioneering in focusing on the dynamic nature of accounting information and its causal linkages.
This lecture will examine the intellectual lineage of these two approaches, their theoretical contributions and interconnections, and their relevance to modern accounting and management information systems.
