On September 8, two students from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Khon Kaen University, Thailand, paid a courtesy visit to President Yasuyuki Imai.
The students are visiting our university as part of a program that enables them to conduct part of their graduation research at an overseas university. They will spend approximately three months conducting research at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of our university.
During the courtesy visit, President Imai welcomed the two students and explained that “our university and Khon Kaen University have a long history of collaboration not only in international exchange but also in research activities.” He also expressed his hope that they would enjoy their stay in Japan.
Naphat Pummoon, who has been interested in and studying organic chemistry since high school, expressed his enthusiasm for the program, saying, “I would like to improve my skills through this program.”
Our university and Khon Kaen University have promoted academic exchange, particularly in the field of healthcare, since signing a university-wide agreement in 2006. Professor Kouichi Yoshinari, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, who also attended the courtesy visit, warmly welcomed the two students.
During their stay, the students will acquire specialized knowledge and skills through their research activities at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, while also experiencing university life and Japanese culture. This exchange is expected to contribute to the further development of academic collaboration between the two universities.
