The following are the guidelines of the University of Shizuoka Corporation, including the University of Shizuoka and the University of Shizuoka Junior College, for research activities involving external organizations.

- We will protect our academic freedom and independence.
- We will give priority to conducting activities that contribute to the development of the University’s educational and research activities.
- We will contribute to sustainable development and to the enhancement of the peace of humankind and public welfare; we will not carry out military research or military development.
- We will, as a general principle, make information related to our research findings publicly available, except in cases in which we regard it as reasonable to enter into confidentiality agreements, such as in the handling of intellectual property.
